What is NRS Rev360?

NRS Rev360 (selfservice.nrs.gov.ng) is the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) online portal for tax filing in Nigeria[1]. It replaced the old TaxProMax portal in April 2026. Under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, this is where you'll submit your annual tax returns.

Portal URL: selfservice.nrs.gov.ng

Before You Start: What You Need

Before logging into Rev360, make sure you have:

1. Your Tax ID (or TIN)

  • If you don't have one, get it at the Tax ID Portal: taxid.nrs.gov.ng[2]
  • You'll need your NIN to retrieve your Tax ID
  • Your Tax ID links your Rev360 profile

2. Your Income Records

  • Total income for the tax year
  • Already converted to Naira (use CBN rates at time of receipt)
  • Broken down by source if you have multiple income streams

3. Your Deduction Records

  • Business expenses with receipts
  • Already categorized and totaled
  • Rent payment records (for Rent Relief claim)

4. Bank Details

  • For payment reference

Step 1: Log In

Your TaxProMax profile, filings and balances carried over to Rev360. At selfservice.nrs.gov.ng, pick the option that fits you:

  1. First time on Rev360? Choose "Log in with TaxPro Max Credentials" and use your existing TaxProMax username and password.
  2. Forgotten your old TaxProMax login? Choose "Create Rev360 Credentials" to set up a fresh Rev360 login.
  3. Already set up Rev360? Choose "Login with Rev360 Credentials".

Common Issue: If your Tax ID doesn't work, your NIN data may not match. Visit your local NRS office with your ID to resolve.

Step 2: Navigate to Your Return

  1. From your Rev360 dashboard, click "File Returns"
  2. Select "Annual Returns"
  3. Choose the tax year (2026 for filing in 2027)

Step 3: Fill in Your Income

You'll see sections for different income types:

Employment Income

If you have a regular employer who withholds taxes, enter those details here. Most freelancers skip this section.

Self-Employment Income

This is where most freelancers report:
  • Enter your total gross income in Naira
  • Select "Self-Employed" as income type
  • Add your business description

Other Income

For additional income sources like:
  • Investment returns
  • Rental income
  • One-off payments

Step 4: Claim Your Deductions and Reliefs

Under NTA 2025, the relief structure has changed[3]:

Rent Relief (New)

  • Enter your annual rent paid
  • System calculates 20% of rent (max ₦500,000)
  • You'll need landlord details and evidence of payment

Business Deductions

Click "Add Deductions" to claim:
  • Business expenses (internet, software, equipment)
  • Professional development costs
  • Home office expenses

Other Reliefs Still Available

  • Life insurance premiums
  • Pension contributions (8% of qualifying income)
  • NHIS contributions
  • National Housing Fund contributions[4]

Note: The old Consolidated Relief Allowance (CRA) no longer exists under NTA 2025.

Step 5: Review Your Calculation

Rev360 will show:

  • Your total income
  • Your total reliefs/deductions
  • Your chargeable income
  • Your tax liability (using the new 0%-25% brackets)

Compare this with TaxJeje's calculation. If there's a significant difference, double-check your entries.

Step 6: Submit and Pay

  1. Review all information
  2. Click "Submit Return"
  3. You'll get a reference number — save this
  4. If you owe tax, you'll see payment options

Payment Options

  • Bank transfer (to designated NRS account)
  • Card payment (online)
  • USSD

Common Errors and Fixes

"Tax ID Not Found"

Your Tax ID may not be in the system. Visit NRS with your ID or try taxid.nrs.gov.ng.

"Session Timeout"

The portal times out quickly. Save your work frequently.

"Server Error"

The portal can be slow during peak times (late March). Try early morning or late night.

Numbers Don't Match

If your calculated tax doesn't match what you expected, check:
  • Did you enter income in Naira (not USD)?
  • Did you claim the Rent Relief?
  • Did you select the correct tax year?
  • Are you using the old tax brackets by mistake?

Pro Tips

  1. File Early — Don't wait until March 31. The portal gets slow.

  1. Screenshot Everything — Keep records of your submission.

  1. Download Your Receipt — Save the confirmation for your records.

  1. Use TaxJeje First — Calculate your tax in TaxJeje using NTA 2025 rules, then transfer the numbers to Rev360. This catches errors before submission.

Filing Deadlines

Income YearFiling Deadline
2025March 31, 2026
2026March 31, 2027

Under NTA 2025 there is no separate "late filing" tier — failing to file by the deadline (or not filing at all) triggers ₦100,000 for the first month plus ₦50,000 for each subsequent month under NTAA Section 101. The older ₦25,000 + ₦10,000/month figures from the repealed PITA no longer apply[5].

After Filing

  • Keep your filing receipt
  • Save your Rev360 confirmation number
  • Set a reminder for next year's deadline
  • Keep supporting documents for at least 6 years (NTAA Section 31)
